Everything You Should Know About Clonie Gowen



In the contemporary world there are a lot of woman, who also enjoy the Texas Holdem games. Some people think that poker is a man business, but the successful female players prove us that when it comes to Texas Holdem the gender does not matter. In this article I want to present you another professional poker player, who is new to the poker fields but she pretend to be a successful gambler. Clonie Gowen is our next Texas Holdem celebrity.

Let us start with some general information about Cycalona (Clonie) Gowen. She was born in 1971 in Kiowa, Oklahoma. She spend several years of her life there. When Clonie was a teenager she moved to Corsicana, Texas. In those years her hobby was the basketball and she used to play in the University basketball team. But this is not her only talent -it seems that Clonie is interested in sports because she was ranked 7th in the high jump. Furthermore, when she was 15 years old, Gowen won the title Miss Teen Oklahoma.

Clonie Gowen started her poker carrier thanks to her boyfriends father. At that time she lived in Dallas and she enjoyed playing poker because it permits her to win some cash. Her initial poker performance was in October, 2002, where she took part in the World Poker Tour (WPT) Costa Rica Classic. Then she finished at 10th place and she took home more than $3,000. A year later she participated in the World Poker Tour Ladies Night I Main Event and she became the winner. The money prize that she got was $25,000.

World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour are obligatory tournaments for each Texas Holdem player. But they are not enough to prove the whole world that you are a reliable poker gambler. For that reason you should visit a great range of competitions where to play. Clonie Gowen realizes this fact and for that reason we can see her playing in different poker competitions. In March 2006 she finished on third place at the 888.com Poker Nations Cup. Besides, a year ago, she also became third at the $ 20,000 No Limit Holdem FullTiltPoker.Net Championship when she received the attractive money award of almost $100,000.

Today Clonie Gowen lives with her two children (11-year old daughter and 2-year old son) in Dallas, Texas. But she still enjoy the poker action. She is a member of the FullTilt Poker Team. Clonie has another interesting occupation, related with poker. She writes articles for Bluff Magazine (the official magazine of World Poker Tour). Besides, she is a member of the board of directors for the United States Poker Association. As you can see, this woman is completely devoted to the poker game.
