How To Play Different Hands In Texas Holdem

When you play Texas Holdem you know that the first two cards that the dealer gives each player are very important. The pocket cards are called the Pre Flop and there are several strategies, concerning how to play them. In this article I want to tell you how to take advantage of some starting hands such as Ace - Ace, Ace - Kking, Ace - Queen, Pocket Cowboys and small pairs.

The best starting hand in Texas Holdem is the American Airlines (Ace - Ace). It is recommended to play this hand more aggressively because by this way you will make some of the players with poor hands to fold. At this moment you have the strongest hand and there is no player, who can beat you. If someone raises before you a proper strategy would be to re raise. If the Flop is favorable you can create a winning hand and to take to pot. But be careful if the pot gives a chance for your opponents to create strongest hand than yours.

If your pocket cards are Ace-King, you are a lucky guy, because this is one of the strongest starting hands in Texas Holdem. If you want to take advantage of it, you should know how to play it. First of all do not be afraid to raise with this hand. If you receive a raise back from your opponents do not hesitate to re-raise. But be careful, because this is actually a drawing hand - it is not a complete, winning hand. For that reason you should pay attention to the Flop and to calculate your odds. Another important indicators, which will help you to play better is to read your opponents (tight or aggressive players) and the size of their stack. Some players make the mistake to go all in if they hold Ace-King, but it is recommended not to do this. Remember that your object is to make the other players fold.

Ace - Queen is another terrific starting hand and it gives you many opportunities to complete a winning hand. Here you should raise on the Pre Flop, especially if you are in late position. Re raise if you get a raise back. But be careful and analyze your opponents and their position at the table. If someone raises in early position this can be an indicator for a better hand than yours. Here the type of your opponents can be very helpful for you because you will know what to expect from them. If there is an ace in the Flop, you will have the strongest pair, which can be profitable for you. If there is a queen, you get a pair with the best kicker. Some people think that if they have Ace - Queen, this is an unbeatable hand and sometimes they lose their chips. Remember that some of your opponents may have better hands than yours. If the Flop does not work for you and the probabilities are not favorable it is recommended to fold.

King - King is also an elite poker hand, but a lot of players experience troubles playing it properly. It is just too attractive and players do not consider the situation properly. One of the most common mistakes is when the Flop is on the table and a player in an early position raises. This is a positive indicator that the player has at least pair of Aces, which in this case beats your hand. It is recommended to play this hand aggressively before the Flop in order to make some of your opponents to fold.

Small pairs are starting hands, which confuse the Texas Holdem players and often they make fundamental mistakes. Here the best advice that I can give you is to pay attention to your position. If you are in early position it is better to limp or to call a small bet in order to see the Flop. If it does not improve your cards it is better to fold otherwise your opponents will make you to lose money. If you are in middle or late position you can raise in order to determine the power of your hand. Be aware of the fact that if someone raise back it is almost sure that the player has a premium hand. But if most of the players call maybe their cards are not so solid and if the Flop works for you can win the game.
